Job Summary:
The Logistics Planner is responsible for the strategic planning and assignment of trucks with deliveries for customers and their respective locations in the most efficient manner. In this position, you will be responsible for strategizing, planning, and maximizing efficiencies. The Logistics Planner will provide the best support to our drivers to ensure customer service excellence.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; this is a full-time office role based in Edmonton.

What you will do day-to-day:
- Deliver an optimized cross-site multiple location supply plan and delivery points.
- Efficiently manage distribution of bulk product inventory, load planning, dispatching, and minimum/maximum volumes.
- Capture data, conduct analysis, and develop recommendations for solutions for inbound logistics, transportation, and distribution activities within inter-provincial networks.
- Continuously improve supply planning techniques, methods, and approach. Responsible for parameter setup and maintenance in different planning tools and systems.
- Interact with Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Finance teams to understand forecast drivers and closely communicate supply changes to Operations.
- Make recommended adjustments to supply based on changes in demand and market trends.
- Coordinate the sites' production schedule alignment to maintain the target volumes.
- Analyzes and helps resolve supply-related obstacles and product supply issues.
- Revenue tracking of all assets, investigating when an asset is not meeting benchmark targets.
- Ongoing review of equipment utilization daily
- Controlling load volumes to ensure axle weights are within limitations and GVW limitations
- Heavy communication is required through phone, messaging systems, e-mail, and other internal applications
- Communicate with the dispatcher in an efficient and timely manner.
- Recommend and implement appropriate action plans for process improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
Education
- Post-secondary education is preferred but not required.
Experience
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3-5 years of logistics coordination experience.
- Dispatch experience preferred.
- Fuel/fluid delivery experience is an asset.
