POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement & Vendor Partnerships, as the Procurement & Vendor Data Analyst you will support the procurement and vendor-partnership functions by managing and analyzing vendor and procurement data. You will help drive cost-effective vendor sourcing, contract management, vendor performance tracking, and data-driven decision making — enabling the company to optimize vendor relationships, pricing, and service delivery.
You will play a critical role in contract cost modeling, maintaining supplier scorecards, conducting market analysis & category strategies, and developing procurement KPIs tied to company goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vendor & Procurement Data Management
Collect, extract, aggregate, and maintain procurement and vendor data from disparate sources (internal databases, vendor submissions, contracts, service-usage data).
Ensure data quality: validate for completeness, accuracy, and consistency; flag anomalies or inconsistencies.
Maintain and update vendor master records, pricing tables, contract terms, service-level data, and vendor performance metrics.
Spend & Cost Analysis
Conduct spend and cost analysis of market rate benchmarking, and cost drivers such as haul distance bin size, frequency, etc.
Identify savings opportunity through data analysis
Data Analysis & Reporting
Develop and maintain analytical reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking for procurement and vendor-management functions (e.g., vendor performance, cost spend, price benchmarking, service frequency/usage patterns).
Use tools such as Excel (and potentially BI tools) to analyze historical spend, vendor rates, customer usage/service patterns, and vendor performance.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, pricing discrepancies, or vendor performance risks and present findings to the procurement team / leadership.
Support Vendor Sourcing & Contract Administration
Support vendor onboarding: ensuring compliance and complete documentation for new vendors (e.g., haulers, recyclers, service providers).
Assist in evaluating vendor bids, comparing vendor proposals/quotations, and supporting rate negotiations to ensure cost-effective service while maintaining quality.
Maintain and track vendor service agreements and contracts: document contract terms, expiry/renewal dates, amendments; coordinate renewals or rebids when needed.
Additional contract management duties include tracking contract expiries and renewals, structuring rates, maintaining an organized contract repository, and supporting negotiations preparations.
Vendor Performance & Compliance Monitoring
Monitor vendor performance against contractual expectations and service-level commitments (e.g., timeliness, quality, compliance with waste/recycling regulations).
Assist in resolving vendor-related issues (e.g., missed pickups, billing discrepancies, service complaints) in collaboration with Operations/Client teams.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support
Work closely with Procurement, Operations, Sales, Sustainability, and Client-Services teams to align vendor sourcing and service delivery with customer needs and company sustainability initiatives.
Provide data-driven support for service pricing, contract renewals, quoting, cost benchmarking, and client-facing proposals or summaries.
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
Identify opportunities to improve procurement/vendor-management processes, data workflows, and vendor-management practices — for cost-efficiency, compliance, and data accuracy.
Support ad-hoc data requests, procurement-related reporting, forecasting, and spend-analysis projects.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management (SCMP), Data Analytics, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
SCMP/CSCP certification preferred
3-5 years of experience in procurement, data analytics, vendor management, or related roles.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; familiarity with data-analysis and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, reporting platforms) is a significant asset.
Experience in the waste or hauling industry is a valuable asset.
Strong analytical, data-management, and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented (particularly related to data), with strong organizational ability.
Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with procurement or CRM systems is an asset.
Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
WORK CONDITIONS & SCHEDULE:
Location: Onsite at our Edmonton head office
Work Hours: 8am to 4pm, Mondays to Fridays
