Job Type: Permanent THE POSITION Working in a leadership role, the Health & Safety Team Lead, Construction & Projects, will be considered a knowledgeable focal point for the Construction, Projects, and Engineering/Technical Services teams. This position will include the leadership and mentorship of various contract field Safety Advisors as needed. In addition, the Construction and Projects Team Lead will be available for consultation on construction and project expertise, as well as traditional occupational health and safety challenges, providing pragmatic solutions grounded in the Keyera Operational Excellence Management Systems (OEMS). This position will also liaise and communicate field successes and concerns to management through the Manager, Health and Safety. WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL The successful candidate can work regularly at one of our offices located in Calgary, Sherwood Park, Grande Prairie or Drayton Valley. The successful candidate would be expected to travel frequently to our various project sites in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Drayton Valley areas as well as the Calgary corporate office. RESPONSIBILITIES A visible leader, displaying the values and behaviors that support Keyera’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy, and Corporate Safe Operating Practices Acknowledge and, if needed, challenge others to ensure organizational alignment Drive continual and consistent H&S improvements in support of Keyera’s Health and Safety Strategies, and focus areas Coordinate H&S Advisor resources effectively to ensure required coverage for all projects Coordinate and monitor contingent worker project funds Successfully integrate into the Construction, Projects, Engineering & Tech Service leadership teams to build and foster relationships Develop or coordinate the completion of Project Specific Safety Plans, Project Emergency Response Plans, and Project Health and Safety KPIs Coach projects H&S Advisors and operational leaders toward a consistent application of Keyera’s Health and Safety Strategies, execution of Corporate Safe Operating Practices, and other guidance standards, such as OEMS Find ways to overcome complex challenges and non-routine problems by partnering with teams and leaders Complete and/or coordinate contractor H&S qualifications as required Actively participate in ongoing Contractor leadership engagements for alignment and continuous improvement Lead &/or participate in the effective execution and implementation of safety programs or systems to further health and safety objectives Develop cost-effective business solutions that may impact and improve Keyera’s health and safety goals Effectively gather information during incident investigations and audits while maintaining relationships Assisting &/or leading audits and incident investigations throughout all Keyera’s projects as required Track and monitor event trends by the project for the department, & communicate to leaders and teams to influence continuous improvement Complete general administrative tasks such as timesheet, vacation, and expense account approvals QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 8 years of gas plant operations experience, trades, or construction and projects. Proven ability to integrate and lead teams, producing effective outcomes Certification in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized institute (Certificate, Diploma, Degree) Currently holds or has the desire to obtain the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Designation A high-level awareness of engineering, construction, operations and maintenance, and the environment A demonstrated skill set in conflict resolution and negotiating in a high-performing team environment Strong organization, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills A demonstrated desire for personal growth while leading and developing peers and reports A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract) Posting Expiry Date: Jan 2, 2026 At Keyera, we embrace collaboration, inclusion, and a workplace that is as diverse as the communities we serve.
