Project
The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position
The Reliability & Integrity (R&I) Engineer is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG’s dynamic team. The successful candidate reports directly to Engineering Manager. This role will be based on the Project Site, in Squamish, BC., playing an essential part in supporting the company’s operations team through the construction/ commissioning and start-up leading to operational phase of the project. The role is to ensure the technical integrity, reliability and availability of the Woodfibre LNG plant, enhancing HSSE and production performance.

During the construction phase of the project, work in collaboration with Project and Operations staff to ensure that the findings and recommendations from the Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) study report are followed through in commissioning, start-up and operations.
In support of successful flawless commissioning and start-up, ensure that risks & lessons learnt from other projects are adequately addressed in Woodfibre LNG project. Develop & manage risk register capturing lessons learned from Commissioning and Operations in the Woodfibre LNG project.
During Operations phase:
- Evaluate, compile and analyze key reliability performance data and communicate insights to asset teams and leadership.
- Lead and facilitate root cause failure analysis (RCFA) from production loss events, through problem identification (e.g. 5-Whys, fishbone, CAUSAL), risk ranking & prioritization, structured solution development & remediation.
- Lead turnaround scope collection & prioritization using risk-based decision methods and scope addition using Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS – SAP).
- Lead Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) & condition based monitoring (CBM) strategy & implementation to optimize maintenance strategies and spare parts management.
- Facilitate the annual evaluation of maintenance effectiveness and maintenance strategy improvement and drive the implementation of those changes into SAP.
- Lead bad actor program to identify and eliminate key reliability issues.
- Manage the site-wide risk register, facilitate quarterly updates and follow through with action parties.
- Coach and develop learning mindset with the multi-discipline operations and maintenance teams on asset’s reliability performance, strategies and concepts.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent. Only candidates with Canadian Professional Engineering registration will be considered.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in an LNG Production Facility.
Working knowledge and experience with CMMS, web-based reliability & integrity tools and risk-based methodologies (RBI, RCM, SIS).
A strong technical background in mechanical, inspection, reliability or production engineering in a manufacturing asset is desirable.
Good experience in root cause failure analysis (RCFA), with working knowledge of applying known techniques such as 5-Whys.

This role will be a combination of office and site-based.
The position is based in Squamish, BC (Project Site), with an initial stay period at the Vancouver Office in and a visit to the Site Project as required.
