Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Chemical Analysis team. The ideal candidate will have experience in analytical testing, be highly organized, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Position will be based in our Cambridge, ON location
The salary range will be CA$25.00 to CA$30.00/hr. based on qualifications and experience
Responsibilities
Laboratory Sample Preparation, Testing & Analysis
Prepare and test materials following clearly defined procedures.
Perform chemical testing as per ASTM or other published standards.
Prepare samples for chemical analysis according to lab procedures.
Operate and calibrate ICP-OES spectrometers, Leco combustion analyzers, and other lab equipment.
Conduct basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Record and report results accurately and in a timely manner.
Support of Laboratory Operations
Ensure all instruments, tools, equipment, and computers are maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized laboratory and testing area.
Keep accurate equipment files including datasheets, maintenance logs, and calibration records.
Follow laboratory work orders and instructions, providing results in a timely manner.
Requirements
B.Sc. or related technology/technician diploma preferred.
Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
Experience with ICP-AES and Leco combustion analysis methods is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Team player with a willingness to learn and develop on the job.
