Reporting to the Department Manager, Hub Administration - YVR this role is responsible for leading operational and facility planning at Air Canada’s YVR hub for each IATA season. The Advisor ensures the execution of the commercial schedule plan with operational integrity, safety, and customer service in mind while optimizing resources, facility capacity, and operational performance. This position plays a critical role in managing Air Canada’s growth, overseeing station operations, and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational, financial, and safety objectives.
Responsibilities:
Lead strategic operational planning for YVR, including facility allocation, gating, apron optimization, runway capacity, de-icing, passenger throughput, and baggage system capacity.
Develop, maintain, and distribute flight schedules to support station operations, including monthly and bi-annual analyses for local stakeholders and agencies.
Collaborate closely with Network Planning, Corporate Scheduling, and other internal partners to determine current and future facility and staffing requirements at YVR.
Drive operational efficiency through strategic monthly plans, risk mitigation strategies, and recurrent validation processes to ensure KPI achievement.
Manage aircraft gating, parking, towing, and de-icing plans in support of commercial and operational requirements at YVR.
Act as primary liaison with contract carriers and regulatory agencies to ensure optimal delivery of contracts, SLAs, and operational performance.
Monitor, analyze, and report operational performance trends, identifying deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Support station operations during irregular operations, including planning and leadership guidance.
Maintain a strong partnership with the safety organization, ensuring compliance with SMS, IOSA, and other regulatory standards.
Represent Air Canada in meetings with airport authorities, external agencies, and operational stakeholders, including airfield construction planning and local operational performance meetings.
Engage in continuous improvement, challenge the status quo, and implement process/procedural enhancements to drive operational excellence.
Oversee and provide leadership to the Gate Planner team, ensuring operational alignment with corporate strategy and customer service objectives.
Ensure all material, staffing, and operational resources are managed within budgetary parameters.
Maintain professional relationships with unions, contractors, and airport partners, promoting accountability, leadership, and a culture of safety and service excellence.
Act as a role model for safety awareness in compliance with government and company safety standards and regulations.
Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
A minimum of two years previous airport operations or network planning management experience.
Effective decision making, leadership and conflict resolution skills.

Fully knowledgeable and competent in the use of ARMS, AC reservations systems, Communicator, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Good working knowledge of Worldwide Scheduling Guidelines (WSG) –Process of Coordination (Section 6).
Ability to successfully obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) & Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP).
Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
