We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead a
team of software engineers to deliver an innovative developer experience that
makes it easy to build applications that scale. You will use your technical
expertise and customer obsession to guide delivery of strategic projects with
bottom-line impact on our business and competitive position. You will use your
business acumen to make trade-offs between tactical, operational, and long-term
objectives. Your skills coaching and mentoring will help team members reach
heights they never thought possible. You will have the opportunity and autonomy
to take the team in new directions that meet customers where they are and will
be.
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational
services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute
Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to
set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC
organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute,
Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps
services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized
security solutions for their cloud services.

technical projects. Basic Qualifications: - 2+ years of engineering team
management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full
software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards,
code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing,
certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred
Qualifications: - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams,
and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product
features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of
Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective,
product software engineers

The base salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year.
Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of
compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in
addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
