Job Title: Manager of Employment Services
Location: St. John’s, NL
Position Type: 1 full-time position until March 31, 2026, with possibility of extension pending budget availability and satisfactory performance
Closing date:
December 26, 2025, or until filled
Reporting to the Director of Employment Services, the Manager of Employment Services plays a key role in helping newcomers integrate into the workforce by providing leadership, support, resources, and guidance to a team of Career Practitioners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day supervision and coaching to a team of Career Practitioners
Oversee the implementation and delivery of employment programs
Monitor client caseloads, service delivery, reporting, and outcomes
Prepare reports and updates
Collaborate with internal (and external) teams to coordinate services and ensure effective referrals
Organize and oversee regular client-centered events
Support the design and implementation of innovative employment initiatives to meet evolving labour market needs
Other related duties as required
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, human resources, business administration, or a related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in employment services, career counseling, or a related field
Minimum 1-3 years of experience leading and coaching teams in a service delivery environment
Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with newcomers
Strong knowledge of local labour market trends, client engagement strategies, and training pathways
Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Conditions of Employment:
Legal authorization to work in Canada
Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)
Valid class 5 NL driver’s license and daily access to a personal vehicle is required
Ability to travel is required
Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
