NOW HIRING: IT Helpdesk Technician
LOCATION: Centennial Auto Group - Summerside & Charlottetown, PEI
HOURS: Full-time, permanent. Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. (Some flexibility may be required)
COMPENSATION: $40,000 - $50,000 based on experience
THE PERFECT FIT:
We are looking for a "doer"—someone who enjoys solving immediate problems, from fixing a stubborn printer to managing Google Workspace accounts. You will assist in maintaining over 350+ devices, support our desktop environment, and collaborate with senior IT staff on network initiatives. In this hands-on role, you will be the first line of defence for our employees, ensuring their day-to-day technology needs are met efficiently and with a positive attitude.
APPLICABLE SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
1–3 years of experience in an IT Helpdesk or Desktop Support role.
Strong knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Admin Console).
Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows 10/11, printers, and basic network connectivity (DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
Experience using ticketing systems and RMM tools.
Excellent communication skills: ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various locations within the Maritimes.
JOB TASKS:
- Day-to-Day Helpdesk & User Support
Desktop & Peripheral Support: Provide direct remote and on-site support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with printers, scanners, monitors, and other peripherals.
Ticket Management: Monitor the helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring that all support requests are acknowledged, prioritized, include detailed notes/problem-solving steps, and are resolved in a timely manner.
Google Workspace Administration: Manage user accounts (onboarding/offboarding), email groups, drive permissions, and general troubleshooting within the Google Workspace environment.
Software Support: Assist users with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of standard business software and specific automotive industry applications.
- Hardware, Infrastructure & Maintenance
Device Management: Assist in the proactive maintenance of 350+ endpoints using Remote Management and Monitoring (RMM) software to ensure all systems are patched, secure, and running smoothly.
Automation: Use PowerShell to script routine maintenance tasks and improve deployment efficiency.
Asset Management: Assist in creating and executing a new asset-tracking and lifecycle-management program to maintain an accurate inventory of all IT equipment.
Junior Network Operations: Collaborate with the IT Helpdesk Team Lead, Director of IT and Senior Network Administrator to assist with basic network maintenance, including cabling, Wi-Fi connectivity checks, and VoIP phone system troubleshooting.
- Documentation & Projects
Knowledge Base: Help build and maintain an internal IT knowledge base by documenting common fixes and "how-to" to improve team efficiency and user self-service.
Field Support: Travel to various Centennial locations (dealerships and body shops) to resolve hands-on operational issues that cannot be fixed remotely.
