Hours of Work 40 hours per week Department Roads, Parks & Forestry Location This position is required to work in person at the Operations Centre, 3330 Harvester Road, Burlington, Ontario. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands. Position Overview This position is responsible for supporting the layout and production of standard traffic control signs, as well as creating specialized signage to meet the needs of the City. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Supervisor of Sign Production Services, you will be responsible for: Assisting with the manufacturing of standard traffic control signs and custom signage using a large-format digital printer, laminator, and computerized vinyl graphics cutter. Performing digital printing using Roland Versaworks RIP software and cutting vinyl film using Adobe Illustrator on a PC. Cutting, weeding, masking, and applying vinyl films to a variety of substrates. Assisting with the installation of signs and vinyl graphics in the field and in shop settings. Maintaining an inventory of materials and updating stock records as materials are acquired and used. Requirements You have a high school diploma (or equivalent) combined with 6 months to 1 year of related experience. Your technical expertise is complemented by a high level of attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to communicate and work effectively with others. You will be required to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting materials greater than 25 kgs and exposure to hazardous materials. This position may require occasional travel between sites and/or City facilities and requires a valid G driver’s licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract (no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire).
