A 12Stone childcare worker will be entrusted with providing excellent care for children ranging in ages 6 weeks – 5th grade during 12Stone events. Childcare workers are responsible for the safety of children, cleanliness of toys and equipment, and will undergo specific training in childcare to make them competent to handle their duties and responsibilities. A childcare worker should be dependable and resourceful as well as compassionate and energetic, so as to develop a rapport with the children in his/her care.
(Childcare workers are on an "as needed" basis)
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Safety: Manage the childcare environment to ensure safe and appropriate care
Keep the play area safe and free from hazards
Remain calm and know what to do in the event of an emergency
Hygiene: Instruct children in health and personal habits
Sanitize play equipment, games and toys on a regular basis to keep them safe and attractive while minimizing the spread of germs
Assist children with washing hands after toileting
Assist children with their snacks, drinks and meals as needed.
Behavior: Focus on using creative ways to encourage good behavior
Promote good behavior by using positive reinforcement methods.
Work with Childcare Coordinator to maintain communication with parents about children’s behavior
Activity: Engage in activities and interact with children as they play
Lead and entertain children with creative games and activities

Models standards and expectations of leaders within 12Stone® Church
Must attend 12Stone® Church
Experience:
Required:
Must be 16 years of age or older
Must be able to lift 30–40 lbs.
Ability to pass a background check (17 yrs. or older)
Preferred:
Previous experience in childcare or daycare
Training in first aid and CPR
Excellent interpersonal skills
