Seasonal Employment – Public Works Summer Labourer(s)

The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for Summer Public Works Labourer(s). This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to keeping our community clean and beautiful.
Position Overview: As a Summer Labourer with Public Works, you will play a key role in:
Collecting roadside and beachfront litter
Emptying garbage and recycling bins
Inspecting storm catch basins, outlets, ponds, and trail systems
Assisting with tree and brush clean-up
Painting fire hydrants, sewer stacks, sign posts, and building structures
Supporting beachfront clean-up and municipal road maintenance
Performing other Public Works-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Preference given to students enrolled full-time in secondary or post-secondary programs for the next academic year
Strong public relations and communication skills
Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
Physically capable of performing manual labour, including heavy lifting and working in all weather conditions
Experience in road maintenance and use of hand tools is an asset
Strong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach is an asset
Valid First Aid and CPR certification preferred
Valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with initiative and a great attitude
Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check and driver’s abstract upon hire
