About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Intermediate Full Stack Developer to join our in-house development team. You'll play a key role in building, maintaining, and optimizing our web and mobile platforms. You'll work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to build scalable, user-centric solutions in a serverless AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Step.co's web and mobile applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Write clean, efficient, and reusable code across front-end and back-end
Design and implement serverless architectures using AWS services
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
Ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Participate in code reviews and help establish best practices

Required Skills \& Experience

3 years of professional software development experience
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React
Experience with AWS services including DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, and Cognito
Familiarity with serverless architecture and tools (e.g., AWS SAM, Serverless Framework)
Understanding of RESTful APIs and GraphQL (preferably AWS AppSync)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Must be based in Vancouver and work from our office

Nice to Have

Experience with mobile app development using React Native
Knowledge of fitness, health tech, or content streaming platforms
Familiarity with AWS Amplify
