Temporary Labourer (Roads)   Job Status:  Temporary Full-Time for approximately 8 months Pay & Grade: $25.32Hourly Grade/Band: NA Hours of Work:40 Hours per week Initial location: Kitchener Operations Facility Posting period:March 18 to December 19, 2025 (at 6:00pm)   Overview The City of Kitchener is seeking candidates to fill temporary labourer positions in the Roads and Traffic division.   Responsibilities * Asphalt-related repairs and maintenance of roads. * Concrete related repairs and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, catch basins, and manholes. * Maintaining waste receptacles, cleaning up garbage and debris from streets, sidewalks and alleys in the Downtown core, as well as on City & Regional roadways, city-owned property, bush & dense bush areas and parkland. * Winter work includes snow plowing and salting. * Performs other related duties as assigned.   Requirements * Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. * Valid MTO DZ class driver's license in good standing and ability to provide Drivers Abstract at your own expense as a condition of employment. * Good communication skills with an ability to keep accurate written records. * Able to perform a wide variety of duties including manual labour and be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills. * Must have good customer service skills. * Ability to participate as an effective team member.   * Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.      Department/Division:Infrastructure Services, Operations - Roads and Traffic Group: CUPE 68 Competition Number: 2025-105/2025-225 Job Code: 5500 Number of positions:           9   Why work at the City of Kitchener [https://www.kitchener.ca/en/jobs-and-volunteering/top-reasons-to-work-for-us.aspx]
