Activity Class Monitor
Job Status: Temporary Part-Time
Pay & Grade: $21.00 hourly, Grade/Band 1
Hours of Work:Up to 24 hours per week
Initial location: Breithaupt Centre

Overview
Monitors activities and/or classes. This position will monitor sports programs on weekday evenings or weekends. The position will start with 1 to 2 programs per week.
Responsibilities
Monitors class participants and lead activities; ensures safe practices.
Assembles supplies and equipment as required.
Completes records and reports including class attendance and accident/incident reports.
Ensures safe use, condition, and storage of equipment.
Distributes applicable forms and program information (e.g., general information, brochures).
Adheres to policies and procedures established for City of Kitchener facilities.
Reviews emergency procedures with participants and follow established procedures during emergencies.
Responds to patrons’ immediate concerns and/or needs and provides customer service.
Acts as a liaison between the facility and participants.
Completes records and reports including accident/incident reports.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Possess a partial secondary school education and current technical and/or practical training in a specific discipline as outlined above.
Minimum of one month of related experience.
Ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
Must be able to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of the program.
Excellent interpersonal communication (written and oral), customer service, and behaviour management skills.
Provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check at your own expense as a condition of employment.
Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
