About the Role
The Director, Co-operative Education provides managerial leadership for strategic and integrated program and service planning and development for Co-operative Education. The role participates in the development of faculty Co-op programs, services and infrastructure planning; manages the evaluation, assessment, integration, and administration of the Co-operative Education program and services, including Co-op Central communications and marketing, curriculum, Co-op Abroad, and the Contemporary Arts internships program; oversees an operating and capital budgets of $5 million; and supervises a large contingent of professional and support staff. Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant discipline and eight years of related experience in development and management of Co-operative Education or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Excellent knowledge of best practice approaches to student-based employability development and service and volunteer-based learning. Excellent knowledge of, and sensitivity to, diversity, gender, race, ethnicity, aboriginal, sexual identity and socio-economic issues; knowledge of the needs of a diverse student body, including the needs of students with disabilities and multi-faith communities. Proven experience leading change. Proven experience successfully working in a culture that values collaboration and consultation. Excellent supervisory and coaching skills and the ability to set clear direction, coach and empower others. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and project management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills exhibiting a high level of tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Excellent analytical skills including needs assessment and program evaluation methodologies. Excellent budget and financial administration skills. Ability to engage commitment to build processes that wisely harness technology to improve communication, knowledge sharing, productivity, engagement, and service. Ability to interpret and apply policies in a fair and transparent manner.
