Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance and Operations, the Manager, Academic Program Administration provides managerial oversight of the administrative operations for the Department’s undergraduate, graduate and graduate work-integrated learning programs along with the Office of Chair.
The Manager, Academic Program Administration provides advice and assistance with respect to a diverse and complex range of activities spanning academic policies, administrative operations, recruitment/admission initiatives, human resources and financial functions specific to the Department’s academic plan. Working closely with the Senior Manager, the incumbent will implement administrative processes designed to proactively support and coordinate program priorities and directions established by the Chair, Associate Chairs (Undergraduate, Graduate) and Program Directors (Professional Programs).
In addition to supporting the Department’s academic operations the incumbent will work closely with staff from the Office of the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean (OVPD), to provide managerial oversight of the operations of the Chair’s office ensuring that administrative processes are in place to proactively support the Academic HR needs of the Department including, but not limited to faculty hires, reviews, annual merit awards, promotions, and leaves.
Your skills as an organizer, motivator and people manager will support a broad and diverse team of high-calibre and dedicated staff that supports a very broad and diverse range of programs. The unique multi-disciplinary and diverse programs within the Department poses distinct human resource, operational and administrative challenges that will test your creativity and ability to bring people together working towards a common goal. As a leader/mentor, the Manager assumes responsibility for developmental, human resource and workflow/workload issues including dispute resolution and compliance with collective agreements. They actively participate in senior level decisions and will be required to work in collaboration with the Department Leadership and Campus partners.
