Position Summary Registered Nurse - Critical Care Career Laddering Initiative
On a practical level, you will

- Assume a leadership/charge role with demonstrated evidence of self- motivation regarding continuing education in areas of patient assessment, patient education and related Clinical Specialties
- Foster good public relations and working relationships in a family centered care environment
- Demonstrate your ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations
- Think critically, set priorities and organize work in response to client/patient needs
- Demonstrate knowledge of transfers and lifts
- Have proficient skill level with computers, MS Word, Internet searches, data entry and patient information systems
Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Must be enrolled in Coronary Care level 1 within 3 months of hire and successfully completed within 6 months of hire
- Coronary Care Level II must be successfully completed within 1 year of hire
- Critical Care Certificate/Completion of Critical Care Certificate required
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred
- Critical Care/ICU Experience, preferred
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset
What We Offer Working at NYGH This is a Full Time Regular position with 12 hour, day and night shifts in the Telemetry \& Critical Care Unit (CrCU).
