Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Minimum 2 years of Supervisory/Management experience
- 3 – 5 years of work experience within the Distribution industry
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to actively identify areas of opportunity
- Proven track record of managing change
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership and Communication:
- Fostering a positive culture with strong engagement with all team members
- Define clear objectives and expectations for the leadership team and provide tailored coaching and guidance on how to obtain those objectives
- Identify and offer opportunities for skill enhancement and career development of leadership team
- Support the performance of the supervisory team including performance reviews, corrective action, KPI monitoring
- Promote a safe working environment by modeling safe work practices, being an active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and ensuring the supervisors conduct daily safety talks.
- Maintain a positive employee relations environment through effective communications, training and coaching with both staff and Supervisors and facilitate problem solving of employee issues.
- Drive effective communications to the teams including support of warehouse meetings, JHSC and delivery of key communication and information to employees as required
Operational Management
- Oversee night shift operations to ensure mandate is fulfilled on a daily basis and documented by optimizing and allocating resources appropriately.
- Responsible for ensuring the night shift achievement of performance metrics such as productive and accuracy targets, safety incidents
- Contributes to the overall warehouse operations strategy ensuring effective rollout of programs on the night shift.
- Works with other departments and shifts to maximize operational efficiencies, identify areas of opportunities for improvement and implement solutions
- Utilize various systems to generate reports and scorecards to identify areas of focus
- Monitor warehouse budget and spending including management of manpower
- Ensure the completion of documentation of all accidents and incidents and follow up on any action required.
Continuous Improvement
- In conjunction with the Day Shift Warehouse Manager, develop and document standard warehouse operating policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective workplace practices and processes.
- Continuous collaboration with Day Shift Warehouse Manager to ensure there is consistent alignment in the practice and enforcement of all warehouse processes and procedures
- Seek and act on continuous improvement opportunities including items from the JHSC, employee feedback and other departments
- Implement special projects based on the needs of the DC.
