Position Summary:
ErinoakKids is currently seeking energetic Summer Student Assistants to support children and youth with disabilities in the Entry to School (ETS) program. The ETS program is a part of the Ontario Autism Program that supports families with children with autism ages 3 to 6 who are entering school for the first time. The program includes: a six-month group-based skill-building program focusing on building skills that prepare children to enter school and transition supports for children when they begin school for up to six months.
These positions will be co-sponsored by Service Canada and is part of the summer employment initiative known as the 2025 Canada Summer Jobs. In order to meet eligibility requirements, candidates must also meet the stipulations outlined by Service Canada. Please see the Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements section below for additional details.
Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the planning and implementation of daily activities; prepare resources and professional materials

Support clients in a classroom environment

Assist clients with personal care routines (eg. toileting, feeding \& transitions)

Promote participation in leisure activities and social skill development

Other duties as assigned by program leads

Between 15 and 30 years of age;
-
Classification as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have official refugee protection status;

Legally entitled to work in Canada;
-
Working towards a diploma or degree in Autism Behavioral Sciences, Early Childhood Education, or Child and Youth Worker is a strong asset;
-
Experience working with children with physical and developmental disabilities is an asset;

Experience in daycare, classroom and/or camp settings is an asset;

Experience assisting individuals in personal care is an asset;

Current C.P.R, First Aid and CPI certificates are preferred;

Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills;
-
