Our cabinet builders at P5 Millwork are detail oriented, hard working individuals. They focus on the details to ensure the job is done with precision and a high-level of expertise. Our cabinet builders are also well rounded woodworkers willing to grow and expand their knowledge. As a cabinetmaker at P5 you will be responsible for knowing and practicing safe working methods and have a strong knowledge of shop practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, quality control, and safety equipment. Dedication to quality craftsmanship and the possession of mathematical and analytical skills are essential in this role.
What will you be doing:
As a company we work on both residential and commercial projects with varying levels of complexity and quantity. You will be required to cut and build boxes and countertops - some in larger numbers for our multi-unit apartment projects, and then some more intricate designs for our residential clients or specialty medical work. You will assemble millwork components into completed units using fasteners, adhesives, and joinery techniques; as well as interpreting and understanding shop drawings to fulfill the work order. You'll be working with all types of material including engineered wood product, veneers, and hardwoods - cutting, sanding, assembling, and preparing for finishing. All other duties assigned as necessary.
Requirements:
- Current Journey Person's, Cabinetmaker's Certificate OR
- Certificate of apprenticeship, cabinetmaker/carpentry/joinery OR
- 4+ years of experience as a cabinetmaker
- Valid BC Driver's License required
- Must be able to use hand tools and machinery safely
- Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
- Must be able to work and communicate well with others
- Have problem solving skills
- Great attitude and a willingness to learn!
