Role Description
Equium Group is seeking a strategic and experienced General Manager to lead our Residential Property Management division. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing the performance, operations, and growth of our residential portfolio, while driving operational excellence, client satisfaction, and team development.
The General Manager will provide vision, leadership, and direction to the residential property management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for portfolio performance, financial oversight, team management, and ensuring all properties are maintained and operated at the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Senior Property Managers, Property Managers, and support staff across the residential portfolio.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of residential properties, ensuring service excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize property performance, tenant retention, and profitability.
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service to residents and property owners.
- Manage escalated tenant, owner, and operational issues with professionalism and timeliness.
- Work closely with the executive team to align portfolio goals with company objectives.
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, rent collection, and expense management across the residential portfolio.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including the Residential Tenancies Act and RECA standards.
- Support property inspections, capital planning, and renovation projects.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients and stakeholders through transparent communication and consistent performance reporting.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management efforts within the residential division.
- Identify and implement operational improvements, technology enhancements, and service innovations.
- Represent Equium Group at industry events and maintain strong awareness of market trends and best practices.
Qualifications \& Skills
- 8 years of progressive experience in residential property management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- RECA license required.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Property Management, or related field.
- Designation such as CPM, RPA, or equivalent is an asset.
- Proven experience in team leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with property budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer service orientation.
- Proficient with property management software (e.g., Yardi, Buildium) and Microsoft Office Suite.
