Holcim is planning to spin-off its North American Business to unleash its full potential, capitalizing on North America's oversized growth in construction led by the modernization of infrastructure, a surge in advanced manufacturing and AI operation and the growth of resilient cities.
Holcim plans to list the new company on the NYSE by the end of the first half of 2025 and establish its operations headquarters in the US to be fully dedicated to serving the North American market and pursue a growth strategy across the region.

Objective
The Millwright position at the Woodstock quarry site will work together with other millwrights, electricians, welders and production workers to accomplish assigned work tasks. This includes participating in plant safety, performing risk assessments before each job, completing scheduled work on-time, and providing feedback to the plant supervisor for work improvements.
Starting pay at competitive wages with benefits, pension plan, and pay increase after 3 months. This position requires night shift, overtime, and occasional weekends when required.
Responsibilities
- Safety: Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC, subcontractors and suppliers, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of "zero" safety incidents. Promotes safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. Ensure that the plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional. Understanding Near Miss and HI process, MVA's, FA's, MI's, LTI's, Daily Safety Huddles, Risk Assessments, Confined Space and WAH permits.
- Technical Skills: Required to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Operations: Millwrights install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools. Responsible for installing, troubleshooting and maintaining power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls. Will be responsible to assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Operator Functions: Millwrights operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery. Also operate machine tools such as drills and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
- Troubleshooting: Millwrights inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Maintenance: Millwrights adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts. Also are responsible to clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Other: Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
Safety Profile:
Comply with OHSA and all of its applicable regulations. Wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required. Strict compliance with Lafarge Canada safety rules, policies and procedures. Report all incidents, near misses and safety hazards to the Supervisor. Follow Lockout/Tag out/Try out procedures. Emergency response plan awareness.
Qualification Profile:
Education \& Work Experience:
- Industrial/Mining plant operational experience.
- Welding and fitting.
- Minimum 3 years experience in maintenance.
- Heavy Equipment Operation an Asset.
Knowledge \& Skills:
- Specific mobile equipment training.
- Specific Modules - Surface Miner training.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Computer literacy an asset.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Action oriented.
- Priority setting.
- Process Management.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Working outdoors and varied temperatures and weather conditions.
- Working indoors in varied conditions (ie. hot, noisy, dusty).
- Rotating shifts, overtime and weekends when required.
- Mobility through all areas of the plant required, including stairs and ladders.
- Regular bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting less than 50 lbs.
- Working at heights and confined spaces.
