Job Description
TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients who choose us for our knowledge, innovation, and experience in the following key areas of finance: Investment and Corporate Banking, Capital Markets, Interest Rate, Precious Metals, Currency and Derivative Products. TD Securities works with clients around the world, and our services include the underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs.
The Associate (internally referred to as Retail Business Development Manager) is responsible for developing and administering the Enterprise Distribution sales efforts in the retail network for Foreign Exchange (FX), Precious Metals and Direct Trade FX services.
Accountabilities
- Effectively work independently and own your business in order to drive results and act as the lead coordinator, prime contact, and product expert for TDS in Ontario with a focus on the Greater Toronto Area.
- Develop and execute a business plan designed to source and acquire new foreign exchange, precious metals and foreign currency business.
- Coach retail branch and wealth employees and work with all levels of business partners to ensure that TD maximizes foreign exchange, precious metals and foreign currency product sales.
- Identify and cultivate new COI's and build a network of contacts in your local business community.
- Identify new and innovative ways to profile the business, and add value to the retail employee experience.
- Proactively identify and advise on branch issues that affect the business.
- Cross-sell and refer to our business partners other bank products and services.
Qualifications
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to actively network internally and externally, as well as demonstrate strong initiative and creativity in order to attract new clients to the bank.
- Strong sales/marketing background combined with knowledge of TDS treasury products and financial markets is required. (ideally experienced in retail banking or investment environment)
- Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.
- Have the ability to lead networking activities to source new business relationships, programs. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
- Possess excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
- Strong PC skills are required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Must own a reliable vehicle as this role requires 80%+ travel on the road within Ontario. There will be reimbursement for use of own vehicle as per TD policy for such positions.
Educational Requirements
- Minimum requirement is Post Secondary Education (preferably Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting).
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and CFA designation or enrolment in program would be an asset.
