The Opportunity
What You'll Be Doing
Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all process mechanical systems or products for the design and analysis of water and sewer piping, pump/lift stations, reservoirs, and treatment facilities Development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats Utilize technologies in development of three-dimensional models of process mechanical systems and provides markups for drafters and junior designers to prepare detailed design drawings, specifications and contract documents. Prepare and review documents in various project phases including equipment sizing, facility layouts, mass balance, hydraulic analysis, diagrams and details. Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, structural, civil and other teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Prepare effective proposals, liaise with clients, and find opportunities to leverage our inter-disciplinary teams to provide value-added services. Understanding of Development Site Servicing Plan requirements and processes would be an asset. Mentorship of junior technical and professional staff
What You'll Bring
10+ years of experience in rural and urban water and wastewater infrastructure including treatment facilities with strong knowledge of process mechanical systems Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Alberta and/or British Colombia or eligibility to obtain immediately Experience with relevant Provincial standards, regulations, and approval processes for all types of utilities and water/wastewater facilities. Experience with business development, proposal writing, and winning new projects. Experience with multi-disciplinary team project delivery, as well as alternative delivery models. Successful track record of maintaining satisfied clients and pursuing infrastructure projects.
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $108,000 - $145,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual's education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
