Position Overview Experience

Current related perioperative nursing experience/training required or successful completion of an accredited program in Operating Room Nursing.

Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required.

CNA Perioperative Nursing Certification preferred.

Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).

Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Qualifications and Skills
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Requires effective communication skills to facilitate decision-making and problem-solving.
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in clinical setting.
- Ability to function in stressful situation.
- Ability and willingness to take initiative and assume responsibility.
Physical Requirements
- Constant walking, standing, bending and stooping. Pushing and pulling heavy objects such as beds, wheeled equipment such as microscopes, compressed gas tanks, etc..
- Stands for sustained periods.
