JOB TYPE: Full Time

JOB SUMMARY: The Agency is assisting a local and reputable company in the recruitment of a proactive and versatile Human Resources Advisor. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working across all areas of human resources. As an integral member of their organization, the HR Advisor will support the development and implementation of HR strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with company goals and promote a positive workplace culture.
The ideal candidate is experienced in employee and labour relations, talent acquisition and management, compensation and benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. This role reports directly to a Senior HR Professional and offers the opportunity to influence and shape their HR practices while supporting employees and leaders across the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to employee requests and questions in a timely manner
- Provide advice and recommendations to management for resolution of workplace issues and assist with disciplinary actions as required
- Formulate strategic and practical plans to address human resource matters
- Conduct HR research and analyze metrics and suggest insight to improve decision making
- Development, revision and/or integration of policies, procedure, employee handbooks and collective agreements
- Review current systems and processes and make modifications to address issues, including workforce analytics and development
- Provide support in recruitment, retention and/or training as required
- Design and implement employee programs for development and succession planning
- Process documentation and prepare reports
- Lead and/or assist with various HR programs and projects
- Perform routine and complex investigations in the areas of harassment, discrimination and other employee relations issues
- Attend meetings and other HR functions as required
- Keep updated on new trends and advancements in the human resources field
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees and leaders from across the organization
- Travel as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resource management, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- 5 years experience in Human Resources, preferably as an HR Advisor/Generalist/Manager is preferred
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or a willingness to obtain
- Understanding of Alberta Employment Standards Act and other labour laws
- Understanding of Human Rights Act and WCB legislation
- Experience working with unions is considered an asset
- Class 5 drivers license
- Ability to maintain client privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities
