Key Responsibilities
- Product Ownership \& Stakeholder Management -- 40%
- Act as the voice of the platform's users -- mainly developers, ML engineers, and infrastructure teams.
- Define and prioritize the product backlog for the platform engineering team.
- Translate high-level product requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with stakeholders to align on platform goals, usage patterns, and pain points.
- Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-team coordination.
- Platform Architecture \& Technical Guidance -- 20%
- Provide input on high-level architectural decisions around EKS, serverless designs, and multi-account AWS architecture.
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to evaluate tools and frameworks.
- Review technical designs to ensure alignment with business objectives and platform standards.
- Act as a bridge between business requirements and technical feasibility.
- Roadmap Planning \& Execution -- 15%
- Define short and long-term roadmap for internal platform capabilities (e.g., CI/CD tooling, observability, infrastructure automation).
- Track feature delivery and adoption across teams.
- Lead regular planning and review meetings with platform stakeholders.
- Developer Experience \& Enablement -- 15%
- Champion self-service capabilities that improve the developer journey.
- Promote adoption of best practices around GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment workflows.
- Gather and analyze feedback from internal users to iterate on platform features.
- Documentation \& Communication -- 10%
- Create and maintain internal documentation for platform capabilities, APIs, and operational practices.
- Communicate changes, new features, and support processes across engineering teams.
- Contribute to onboarding guides and knowledge base articles.
- Tech Stack Exposure
You don't need to be hands-on every day, but you must understand and influence decisions across the following areas:
- Container Orchestration: Amazon EKS, Helm, ArgoCD
- Serverless: AWS Lambda, AWS ECS, Fargate etc
- Infrastructure \& CI/CD: Terraform, GitLab CI, GitOps
- Cloud Services: Broad AWS ecosystem (IAM, CloudWatch, S3, ECS, API Gateway, etc.)
- APIs: REST/gRPC-based APIs, API lifecycle management
- MLOps: Support for ML workflows (e.g., model serving, experiment tracking)
- Security \& Governance: RBAC, policy-as-code, least-privilege access
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Program Management, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Proven experience working on cloud-native platforms and internal tooling.
- Familiarity with platform architecture and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
- Experience working in Agile teams and driving product lifecycle end-to-end.
Nice To Have
- AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
- Exposure to MLOps tooling like Kubeflow, MLflow, SageMaker.
- Prior experience in a similar Platform Product Owner role.
