We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in MongoDB to join our dynamic data team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring data availability, reliability, and performance for various business applications.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $100K to CAD $120k/year \& benefits (see below).
++The Role++
++Responsibilities:++
- Data Modeling: Design and implement efficient data models using MongoDB, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- ETL Development: Develop and manage ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into MongoDB.
- Query Optimization: Write and optimize MongoDB queries, ensuring high performance and minimal latency.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune MongoDB databases for optimal performance, including the implementation of indexing strategies and query optimization.
- Data Quality: Ensure data integrity and quality through appropriate validation and cleansing techniques.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions for MongoDB databases to ensure data safety.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, workflows, and processes.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in MongoDB and data engineering practices.

++You are:++
- Here are the core skills, highly concentrated with MongoDB and General DB/DBA skills:
- Designing, modeling, mapping, and architecting high-performance and scalable MongoDB/NoSQL databases.
- MongoDB DBA-level experience (sharding, scaling, replication, admin, etc.).
- MongoDB advanced schema optimization and querying.
- Experience with event driven architecture and synchronization of data with changestreams (bidirectional).
- Data sync, aggregations, and migrations with data transformations and normalization
- Major Pluses.
- Redis caching (preferably with PubSub experience and advanced querying).
- Solace/Kafka real-time sync.
- Node JS for loading, migrations, scripting and query builder APIs.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of data security best practices and compliance standards.
