Overview Responsibilities
- Support standardization of procedures \& metrics across warehouses supporting manufacturing.
- Evaluate effectiveness of current or future logistical processes.
- Provide logistics technology or information for effective and efficient support of product, equipment, or system manufacturing or service.
- Evaluate the use of inventory tracking technology, Web-based warehousing software, to improve plant efficiency.
- Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business units.
- Analyze or interpret logistics data involving customer service, forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, transportation, or warehousing.
- Identify cost-reduction or process-improvement logistic opportunities.
- Develop specifications for equipment, tools, facility layouts, or material-handling systems.
- Conduct logistics studies or analyses, such as time studies, zero-base analyses, rate analyses, network analyses, flow-path analyses, or supply chain analyses.
- Identify or develop business rules or standard operating procedures to streamline operating processes.
- Design comprehensive supply chains that minimize environmental impacts or costs.
- Responsible for defining tugger routes \& standards for tugging \& picking areas.
- Work with suppliers to implement lean material flow from suppliers to CNH facilities.
- Involves employees at all levels of the organization and from multiple functions to achieve the goals of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science Degree Mechanical, Industrial, Logistics or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) in good standing with a Canadian engineering association.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation of lean manufacturing and the ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
- Knowledge of logistics and management and the ability to implement processes and operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
- Knowledge of material handling and management in plants and the ability to monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
- Broad knowledge of line scheduling, rates of production, machines, tooling, set-ups, unit variations, orders and speeds of operation, capacities, sheets, blueprints, alternative processes
- Previous experience with company products, and sources of supply
