We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in Snowflake and Databricks, along with experience in the banking domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures to support our data analytics and business intelligence initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of banking data processes and regulations, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $110k - CAD $120k/year \& benefits.
++The Role++
++Responsibilities:++
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and Databricks to facilitate data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Optimize ETL processes and workflows for performance and scalability.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with banking regulations throughout the data lifecycle.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and data models.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies, particularly in data engineering and analytics within the banking sector.
++Requirements:++
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong proficiency in Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
- Experience with Databricks, including Apache Spark for big data processing.
- Proficient in SQL and other data manipulation languages.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance issues relevant to the banking sector.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Preferred, but not required:
- Familiarity with machine learning and data science concepts.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
