Job Description: Who we are looking for?
- Assisting with project work within GHD's Rail and Transportation and Water business and support other tunnelling projects across Canada or internationally, as opportunities present.
- Assisting in responding to technical and administrative tasks associated with the development of tunnels and stations.
- Carrying out analysis as directed by senior members of the team for tunnel liners and shaft/tunnel design using PLAXIS, FLAC, Rocscience, etc.
What you will bring to the team:
- University graduate with degree in geotechnical, geological or civil engineering (Master or PhD Degree in Tunnel/Geotechnical Engineering will be an asset)
- Capability in working within tunnel design or construction teams is an asset
- Experience in design of tunnels in soft ground and transit underground support of structure will be an asset
- Knowledge of shaft \& shoring design will be an asset
- Experience in various industry standard geotechnical software's would be an asset (PLAXIS, FLAC, Rocscience etc.)
- Familiar with tunnelling \& shaft construction, logistics \& equipment \& methodology selection, would be an asset
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
- Keen interest in infrastructure and underground structure design
- Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, organizational and team work skills
- Professional status desirable, e.g. P.Eng, or working towards it
- Valid Ontario Driver's License (G)
