We are seeking a highly motivated, smart, creative, and entrepreneurial candidate for a full-time position in our studio practice located in the Junction Triangle. Our ideal applicant has professional Urban Design experience working with development projects, from master planning to site specific design plans, with a strong understanding of built form typologies, quality graphic communication, and design sketching skills.
The selected candidate will work on transformative projects in an enriching studio/practice with a growing list of top tier Canadian clients. Responsibilities:
- Support the Principal and Project Manager in the growth of the studio and the business.
- Work with existing processes and develop new systems to expand the capabilities of the studio team.
- Support and manage the team in the design and execution of project deliverables.
- Graphically convey specific project opportunities and constraints for discussion.
- Prepare graphic visuals, design concepts, reports, and design statistics.
- Develop 3D models/renderings.
Qualifications:
- 4 to 7 years of professional Urban Design experience.
- Worked on development projects such as:
o Residential Site Plan
o Low, Medium and High-Density Communities
o Mixed Use Retail/Office Projects
o Transit Oriented Developments
o Secondary Plans
o Urban Design Masterplans/Design Briefs
o Block Plans
- Knowledge of high density-built form models to low density typologies is considered an asset.
- Strong design and technical knowledge with a talent for graphic communication/visualization.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software including:
o 3D Autocad, 3D Studio Max, Lumion, Revit.
- Graphic computer software proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership qualities include integrity, accountability, empathy, humility, resilience, vision, influence, and positivity.
- Team player capable of wearing multiple hats in the delivery of projects.
- Degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Planning and/or a diploma in Architectural Technology.
- Professional affiliation considered an asset.
Ut's preferred candidates would live in the GTA.
