Job Description
- Architectural Design Leadership: Lead the development of architectural concepts, detailed designs, and technical drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaboration with Teams: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, structural, electrical) to ensure the integration of all systems and seamless execution of the design.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance on the selection of materials, construction methods, and assembly details to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- Client \& Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to ensure alignment and resolve issues or concerns as they arise.
- Construction Documentation: Prepare and review comprehensive construction drawings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and that all details meet project specifications.
- Problem-Solving \& Issue Resolution: Identify and address discrepancies or challenges within the project, offering solutions to mitigate risks or delays.
- Mentorship \& Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and technologists, fostering professional growth and maintaining high technical standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to local building codes, standards, and environmental regulations, staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
- Quality Control: Oversee the quality assurance processes for architectural deliverables, ensuring all work meets design intent, performance standards, and client expectations.
The Successful Applicant
- Proficient with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and its practical applications
- Oversee schedules and maintain adherence to predefined project budgets
- Investigate and evaluate appropriate materials, construction systems, and technical detailing
- Collaborate with consultants to align mechanical, structural, and electrical plans with architectural intent
- Facilitate communication between the design and project management teams for cohesive project execution
- Develop custom architectural details tailored to unique design requirements
- Conduct thorough reviews of construction drawing sets, identifying and correcting inconsistencies before release
- Prepare and present clarification requests to the Project Manager during coordination sessions
- Efficiently juggle multiple projects independently while maintaining a high level of organization and accuracy
