Our client is a geotechnical consulting firm with more than 20 years of experience providing ground improvement solutions to clients in the public, private, and municipal sectors and is experiencing a period of rapid growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Supervisor looking for an established company that prioritizes employee engagement and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage crews on-site, ensuring alignment with the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Coordinate work flow with crews, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure that site operations are conducted in accordance with the standards set out by the client, their customers, and the overall project objectives.
- Work directly in a supervising role with subcontractors, maintaining a positive working relationship and ensuring work meets the required standards.
- Collaborate regularly with the Project Manager to identify conflicts and challenges and bring them to resolution.
- Lead site meetings and all employee orientation and safety training onsite.
- Review all project drawings and specifications to understand the project, its scope, schedule, and possible concerns.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of construction experience with a focus in either heavy civil or geotechnical construction.
- Experience with design-build construction.
- College Diploma or University Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Eligible to gain OCETT or PEO certification.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to adapt quickly are an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
Other Requirements:
- Must have access to a vehicle and possess a valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel to work on sites in the GTA and across Ontario (ability to stay in site city overnight is required).
