YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Chief Exploration Geologist, you will be part of the Exploration Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health \& Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Collection and interpretation of pertinent geological data from exploration programs, including but not limited to: diamond drill core, field mapping / sampling and historical drill core
- Assist in the planning and execution of exploration programs designed to achieve departmental goals
- Supervision and mentoring of junior exploration staff and contractors
- Assist in the tracking and monitoring of exploration programs to ensure desired results are achieved and maximum value is attained
- Contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as required
- Contribute to geological data review and interpretation leading to the development of deposit to regional scale models, including lithological, alteration, structural and mineralization
- Generation of near mine and regional exploration targets
- Ensure industry the best practices are followed
- Lead from the front to ensure compliance with the companies Zero Harm safety conscious culture
- Strive for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences
- 3 years in mineral exploration, mine site experience is considered an asset
- Registration as a Professional Geologist
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, environment and community
- Strong academic and applied background in orogenic gold deposits
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word \& PowerPoint
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days off at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON
