The Shop Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day safety and operation of our hauling and construction shop in Yellowknife, NT. The successful candidate should possess strong mechanical knowledge of Class 8 highway tractors, trailing and industrial construction equipment.
This position is a working supervisor and will be required to be flexible to work in the office, and on the shop floor.
About The Position
- Supervising and supporting employees. Scheduling work, approving holidays, monitor staffing levels.
- Control and manage workflow in the shop.
- Manage standard repair times, prioritize required repairs, and oversee work quality.
- Responsible for communicating and coordinating any equipment needed in the shop with Operations.
- Participating in employee relations, such as dispute resolution, discipline, and communications in conjunction with the leadership and human resources.
- Creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Other duties as required.
Qualification And Skill
- Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician or experience to supplement.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience and relevant skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a service driven mindset.
This is a full-time position located in the city of Yellowknife where the successful candidate must reside and or be willing to relocate (support provided).
