As the controller, you will be at the forefront of our financial operations, driving innovation and excellence in a multifaceted and fast-paced environment. You will provide strategic insights and accurate and timely financial information to the CFO and Owners, ensuring our continued success and growth.
Responsibilities of the Controller is as follows but not limited to: Lead and manage the accounting and finance operations, including journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, and receivable. Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure compliance with legal and company policies. Prepare, analyze, and present quarterly and annual financial results, providing strategic analysis to drive decision-making.
Collaborate with the property manager to oversee building level budgeting and YE reconciliation. Collaborate with external auditors and accountants on company matters. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
Coordinate year-end reporting and prepare annual financial statements. Support new systems or project selections and implementations from a strategic finance perspective. Create and maintain financial models for evaluating potential property acquisitions and existing real estate assets.
Analyze investment opportunities, including cash flow projections, ROI, and risk assessments. Oversee Design budgeting, monthly reporting, and AP/AR process. TMGNY Job Requirements: Advanced degree or professional Canadian accounting designation (CA, CPA, CGA, CMA) preferred.
Extensive experience in finance, with a strong background in commercial real estate and/or family office investment practice. In-depth knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and local financial regulations. Expertise in Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and real estate accounting (REALPAC).
Proficiency in creating and maintaining financial models and analyzing investment opportunities including cash flow projections, return on investment (ROI), and risk assessments. Very comfortable with technology and interested in adopting the latest systems and processes. Exceptional leadership, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
