McEwen Mining Inc. has four producing mines, located in Nevada, Ontario, Mexico, and Argentina, and also has exposure to copper through its subsidiary McEwen Copper, owner of the large Los Azules copper deposit in Argentina. McEwen Mining currently has an opening at our Fox Complex Sites for a: Production Geologist/GITReporting to the Senior Production Geologist, the Production Geologist/GIT is responsible for the efficient completion of day-to-day activities assigned by the Mine and Technical Services Department. They must be a committed team player with a strong knowledge and dedication to safety, production methods and equipment care. Other duties will be assigned as per operational needs.

All employees are required to be professional, cooperative and flexible in line with the requirements of the position. Operational / Technical Execution: Assist with the implementation and adherence to a grade control plan for the processing of ore body.
Assist with data collection, geological modelling, and resource estimations. Map underground development and track ore movement. Track and report on ore grades.
Log drill core as required. Work cooperatively with other departments according to mine production plans. Carry out other non-core duties as requested by Senior Production GeologistGeneral Administration and ControlsCarry out routine reporting and administrative duties as required.
Take part in staff meetings as required. Maintain full responsibility for complying to all Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory aspects relating to activities carried out in line with the requirements of this position. Maintain a safe working environment.
Use skills, knowledge, and experience in the field to contribute towards continuous improvement. Qualifications and Skills Requirement:Legal to work within Canada. A Bachelor of Science in Geology / Earth science or tertiary education is required.
Registered as a Professional Geologist (P.Geo.) or Geologist in Training (G.I.T.)Valid driver's licenseGood safety knowledge. The ability to recognize and respond to hazards. Attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve under pressure.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills. Ability to interact with a wide variety of departments/roles within all levels of the organization. The ability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing, creative and energetic environment.
Must be physically fit and capable of performing physical labour such as lifting. Proficiency in MSOffice Suite. Working knowledge in computer systems related to this role would be considered an asset (AutoCAD, Amine, Datamine, Leapfrog, and Deswik)3 years of mining or mine related work experience would be an asset.
Underground Common Core accreditation is considered an asset. Past underground experience will be heavily valued.
