Reporting to the Territory Manager, Prairie Provinces, this role works to improve Reuven's market position and achieve financial growth focusing on Foodservice Accounts and Regional Distributors. Develop new accounts and/or expand existing accounts within an established geographic territory. Responsible for developing and strengthening customer relationships, managing and growing both Reuven's and our customers' business, and bringing poultry knowledge and expertise to our customers. This person identifies and builds new key customer relationships and business opportunities and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions and competitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintaining existing accounts and broadening our customer base by cold calling and generating new accounts
within the assigned territory.
· Accountable for designated regional/local distributors located within the assigned territory.
· Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the company's overall strategy.
· Develop the necessary market intelligence to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the competition and adjust
strategy to meet market needs.
· Meeting with customers, identifying opportunities and collecting customer and competitor critical information.
· Conduct product tasting and education sessions with customers.
· Provide accurate forecasts by customer and key business segment to support Reuven planning process.
· Understand and leverage our value chain; work with customers to plan programs to improve their business
results and leverage our product and execution capabilities.
· Strong relationship building within all accounts.
· Lead and manage all aspects of account base (externally and internally).
· Identifies prospects that align with the business plan and marketing strategy.
· Initiate needs-based, solution-focused opportunity identification.
· Research, contact, qualify, prepare and present packaged solutions to acquire new business.
· Assess potential application of company products or services and offers solutions that meet customer needs.
· Participation in customer and distributor events as required.
· Travel as required within specified territory.
POSITION OUTCOMES:
· Develop strategy and action plans for assigned customers/territory responsibilities.
· To establish and maintain optimum account call frequencies which lead to better relationships with the
customer, better understanding of the customer's business and needs, and the accomplishment of the sales
objectives.
· Plans, prioritizes and manages a work schedule which meets customer expectations in a timely and cost-
effective manner.
· Deliver profitable customer business.
· Contribute to best-in-class processes for the Reuven Sales team.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
· 5+ years of applicable foodservice sales experience.
· Foodservice distributor experience is desirable.
· Proven track record of sales success and growth.
· Must be results driven and self-motivated.
· Experience in developing customer plans.
· Foodservice street sales experience and ability to build customer relationships are mandatory.
· Key account experience is a benefit.
· Experience with regional/local distributors.
· Poultry industry experience is a benefit.
· College or University Degree -- Business or Marketing discipline preferred.
· Culinary experience is a benefit.
