SUMMARY
Reporting to the VP, Marketing \& Communications, the Marketing \& Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and communication initiatives to support the association's mission and enhance its brand presence. The role collaborates with internal teams and external partners to drive brand awareness, increase membership engagement, promote educational initiatives and position advocacy efforts. Responsibilities include content strategy, digital marketing and analysis---ensuring the association remains a trusted voice and resource for brokers across Ontario.
RESPONSIBILITIES
COMMUNICATIONS --- 50%
· Lead IBAO's digital content strategy, curating innovative, impactful, creative content that supports the organization's strategic objectives including landing pages, ebrochures, lookbooks, direct mailers, infographics and eguides
· Create and execute weekly email marketing campaigns including content development, distribution to a 20,000+ subscriber list and ongoing analysis of engagement metrics, open rates and performance analytics
· Explore and implement modern, interactive, multimedia enewsletter elements such as audio, video and dynamic design to enhance engagement and deliver an accessible experience
· Play a key role in shaping and developing content for IBAO's new website, ensuring it effectively engages key audiences and delivers a seamless user experience
· Develop engaging, informative content that highlights the unique value and outcomes of IBAO educational courses including copy for brochures, websites, social media and email campaigns to attract prospective students, communicate key benefits and inspire action
· Oversee the creation of IBAO's Annual Report, managing content development, timelines and coordination of internal and external communications, applying a new lens for final output to ensure a modern, impactful product
· Lead the editorial development of IBAO's magazine, managing content calendars, timelines and stakeholder input, coordinating contributors to balance editorial content, implementing new applications like audio articles and video components to enhance accessibility and increase readership, applying industry expertise and best practice to elevate the magazine's quality and relevance to members
MARKETING --- 25%
· Collaborate with the VP, Marketing \& Communications to develop, manage and execute annual marketing and communication plans and editorial content calendars to effectively promote IBAO initiatives and events
· Drive the ongoing evolution of IBAO's brand, enhancing marketing materials and communication strategies, consistently striving to amplify brand impact and visibility
· Lead the end-to-end execution of IBAO's Awards of Excellence program including launch, submission process, review and winner selection, managing associated communication and promotional efforts
· Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics using Google Analytics, Mailchimp and other reporting platforms to measure campaign success and provide actionable insights
· Leverage current and emerging AI tools to boost efficiency, streamline workflows and drive innovation, ensuring the organization stays ahead of industry trends and delivers inspiring results
MULTIMEDIA --- 15%
· Develop and produce video content across multiple categories including corporate branding, event highlights, executive updates, advocacy campaigns, educational resources and testimonials to enhance member engagement and promote association initiatives
·Manage video editing including workflows, interviews, creative elements, motion graphics, animation and hands-on editing to deliver engaging and polished products
· Identify, source and build strong partnerships with freelancers to build on IBAO content and ensure high-quality output
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT \& EVENTS --- 10%
· Connect with IBAO's membership and the broader insurance community to build meaningful and impactful relationships
· Source and develop effective partnerships with external vendors including writers, editors, illustrators, online publishers, photographers and videographers
· Provide on-site marketing and communications support at a variety of events including conferences, job fairs, industry and broker initiatives
FINANCIAL
· Lead the financial management, budgeting and payment coordination for projects falling within the Marketing \& Communication Specialist's portfolio
Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of marketing and communication budgets

No direct managerial responsibilities of internal staff required but the role includes supervisory oversight of outside vendors
REQUIREMENTS
· Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, PR or related field
· Experience in Adobe's Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, MailChimp or related email management software, video editing, social media management, WordPress or related Content Management Systems
· Self-motivated, independent thinker
· Strong written, verbal and multimedia communication
· Multi-tasker, team player, ability to adapt to evolving environments and circumstances
· 5+ years of progressive demonstrated experience in Marketing and Communications in a comparable or related context
· Insurance industry experience an asset
