As the Trade Marketing Manager, you will lead the largest team within the marketing department and play a pivotal role in driving the success of our trade marketing strategy. This position involves both hands-on execution and people management, overseeing a diverse team of 6-7 members, including internal employees and brand ambassadors.
You will be responsible for developing and executing innovative trade marketing strategies, ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations, and collaborating closely with digital and sales teams. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and data-driven decision-making will be key to driving results and innovation in this role.
This is a hybrid role based in Markham, Ontario, with three days per week in the office and approximately 30% travel across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Strategy Development \& Execution: Lead the creation and implementation of trade marketing strategies to drive sales, brand visibility, and customer loyalty across key accounts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer teams to ensure alignment of trade marketing initiatives with overall brand objectives.
- Promotional Campaigns \& POS Materials: Plan and execute effective promotional campaigns, events, and design point-of-sale materials to enhance product visibility and drive consumer engagement.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners and stakeholders to maximize sales opportunities and ensure long-term partnerships.
- Budget Management \& ROI Optimization: Oversee the trade marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and maximizing return on investment.

- Market Insights \& Performance Analysis: Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to inform trade marketing strategies and report on campaign performance. Travel locally within the Greater Toronto Area to conduct market visits 1-2 times per month and travel to other provinces (AB, BC, QC) 1-2 times per year.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in both execution and leadership for B2B marketing/trade marketing
- Previous experience in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of POSM and retail marketing.
- Data-driven with a keen ability to analyze and use data to drive decision-making.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
