About the Role:
Reporting to the Director, Software Engineering, you will provide primary and secondary Business Systems Analyst support for a suite of business systems through issue tracking, problem determination and resolution, documentation, testing and change management. You will ensure that systems are kept up to date as required by coordinating system upgrades with the system users to test. You will ensure all systems conform to CAAT's IT General Controls.
You will also be responsible to support the acquisition, development and implementation of new business systems. This will involve providing support for all phases of assigned system development and implementation projects. Your expert opinions and ideas throughout the project will be encouraged and solicited.
As the Newest Member of our Team, You Will:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional development teams to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements for new projects, system enhancements, or process improvements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for IT development teams.
- Write clear and concise, quality acceptance criteria for all user stories, bugs, and requirements related items.
- Create and maintain process flowcharts, data models, other visual representations and requirements specification documents to illustrate current and proposed solutions.
- Assist in the design of technology solutions that align with business requirements.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives, status, and issues.
- Document and present findings and recommendations to management concisely.
- Aid in the testing process by reviewing and validating test cases, participating in testing support activities, and documenting test results. This may include functional, user acceptance, and regression testing.
- Help business stakeholders prioritize and manage changing requirements.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
- Ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions while actively contributing to process improvement and organizational efficiency.
- Analyze the viability of the solution to meet delivery timelines, and quality.
- Support one or more business processes, requiring integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business.
- Work with business partners to align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Support all technical teams throughout all phases of the project.
- Drive end to end delivery working with the integrated development and QA teams ensuring delivery stays on track, defects.
To Succeed, You Bring:
- University Degree (preferably in computer science, Engineering, or Information Technology).
- 5-7 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with a significant portion in pension systems. This experience should include a proven track record of successfully managing initiatives.
- In-depth understanding of Canadian pension regulations, compliance and industry best practices.
- Expertise in pension software systems, database management and Azure Cloud technologies.
- Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Knowledge of Oracle DB, SQL Server and Azure cloud technologies.
- A solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile and Waterfall), and integration methods.
- An in-depth understanding of business processes, industry trends, and the ability to align technology solutions with long-term business goals.
- Extensive pension knowledge (SME) is preferred.
- CSPO, CSM and/or IIBA certifications are nice to have.
