We're seeking a detail‑oriented Business System Analyst with deep Capital Markets reference‑data expertise. In this role, you will partner with front‑office, data governance and technology teams to define, source, curate and deliver critical reference data (e.g. instrument identifiers, legal‑entity data, product hierarchies) for trading, risk, compliance and reporting systems. Your combination of domain knowledge and technical acumen will ensure our reference‑data pipeline is accurate, complete and scalable.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $125k - CAD $135K/year \& benefits (see below).

++Responsibilities:++
- Business Analysis \& Requirements Gathering:
- Work with traders, risk managers, operations and compliance to elicit and document business requirements for reference‑data processes and system enhancements.
- Map and define reference‑data elements (e.g. ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, LEI, product classifications) across asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives).
- Data Sourcing \& Curation:
- Identify and evaluate external vendors, market‑data feeds and proprietary sources for reference data.
- Design and document data‑ingestion workflows (ETL/ELT), ensuring alignment with SLAs and data‑quality rules.
- Implement data‑validation checks, exception‑handling processes and reconciliation routines.
- Solution Design \& Implementation:
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for IT delivery.
- Liaise with data engineers and developers to configure MDM/MDM‑adjacent platforms (Informatica, Collibra, or similar).
- Support system testing: develop test scripts, execute UAT, and track defects through resolution.
- Data Governance \& Quality:
- Enforce data‑governance policies: stewardship, lineage documentation, data‑quality metrics (completeness, consistency, timeliness).
- Monitor key data‑quality indicators and drive continuous improvements in remediation workflows.
- Stakeholder Communication \& Reporting:
- Produce clear status reports, data‑catalog updates and impact assessments for senior management.
- Conduct training sessions and prepare user guides on reference‑data standards and tools.

- 3+ years working with reference‑data domains in trading, risk or back‑office functions.
- Strong understanding of instrument identifiers (ISIN, CUSIP, FIGI), entity identifiers (LEI) and product taxonomy.
- Proficient in SQL and relational data‑modeling concepts.
- Hands‑on experience with ETL tools (e.g. Informatica PowerCenter, Talend) or data‑integration frameworks.
- Familiarity with MDM and data‑governance platforms (e.g. Collibra, DataHub) and metadata‑management best practices.
- Analytical \& Communication Skills:
- Excellent stakeholder‑management skills: able to translate between business and technical audiences.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and keen attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
Preferred, but not required:
- Prior experience with B2B data‐delivery protocols (SFTP/SCP, MQ, FIX).
- Scripting expertise (Python, Shell) for automation and data‐validation routines.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Certifications in GoldenSource, CBIP or CDMP.
