Bradford Jacobs is assisting an AI drone solutions company, helping business customers improve mission-critical business operations. Since 2017, the company has leveraged software development expertise and grown drone design and manufacturing capabilities.
They are seeking a highly analytical and tech-savvy Business Systems Analyst to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring systems are designed and implemented to support business objectives efficiently. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable systems, optimize workflows, and deliver impactful business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
- Create detailed functional and non-functional specifications to guide development and implementation.
- Work with developers, product managers, and operations teams to ensure alignment on project goals and solutions.
- Develop solutions using internal tools to streamline and automate business processes.
- Translate business or finance requirements into logical system specifications.
- Investigate bugs and system issues by reviewing code and working closely with engineering teams.
- Support testing, validation, and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including process flows and user guides.
- Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuously seek out innovative solutions to optimize business workflows and improve system performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputable university.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in complex system implementations, including requirement gathering, planning, analysis, testing, and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of database design, process flow diagrams, and query languages (e.g., SQL).
- Experience with business requirements elicitation, business process mapping, business application, and system support.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Proven knowledge and continuous learning of the business analysis discipline and best practices. Working knowledge of project management, quality assurance disciplines, and best practices; and software development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in producing BRDs, user cases, user stories, BPMs
- Understanding of programming logic and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Ability to read and understand code for debugging and enhancement identification.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in a technology company, startup, or consulting environment preferred.
- Understanding of common technologies used in both custom-built and packaged applications.
On-site position in Toronto.
Salary range: $70,000 - $75,000.
