The Department of Psychology at the University of Calgary invites applications for a full-time Associate Director of the University of Calgary Psychology Clinic at the rank of Assistant Professor (teaching), tenure-track. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.
The University of Calgary Psychology Clinic (UCPC) is a sliding scale outpatient mental health training clinic serving the greater Calgary area. It offers state-of-the-art training to graduate students of the University of Calgary accredited Clinical Psychology Program. At the UCPC we provide evidence-based psychological services to the Calgary community for a wide range of psychological difficulties across the life span. The Associate Director will have the opportunity to be part of a diverse research and clinical training environment in the Department of Psychology.
The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director include assisting the UCPC Director in (a) providing clinical supervision to trainees from the Clinical Psychology graduate program; (b) planning community and UCPC practicum placements for the Clinical Psychology graduate program; (c) engaging in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate psychology courses in the area of clinical psychology, (d) promote and support clinical research being conducted within the UCPC, and (e) assisting with UCPC clinic operations including program development and administrative responsibilities associated with running the UCPC.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in clinical psychology from a CPA or APA-accredited program and be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists. We are particularly interested in candidates whose clinical training, experience, and orientation are consistent with the evidence-based practice approach to clinical decision making. Candidates also require a minimum of four years of experience in providing clinical services, that includes experience in clinical supervision. Candidates will also demonstrate excellence in university-level teaching and/or providing supervision to graduate student clinicians. Experience managing an outpatient clinic is highly desirable.
