Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and certified 310T Field Service Technician to join our industrial operations. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of heavy-duty industrial vehicles in the field at mine sites and in our shop. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-focused, and experienced in working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on industrial (wet/dry vacuums, roll-offs, high pressure pumps, pickup trucks, etc.)
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field to minimize downtime
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory logs by using our fleet tracking software.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, fleet supervisors, and drivers to coordinate repairs
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and government regulations
- Assist in training operators on basic vehicle checks and maintenance reporting
Requirements:
- Valid 310T Truck \& Coach Technician License
- Clean and valid G driver's license
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Vale/Norcat Training (is an asset)
- Proven experience with heavy-duty trucks, ideally in an industrial, waste, or transportation environment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Flexible schedule and willingness to be on-call for emergency repairs
Working Conditions:
- Field-based role with travel to various sites around Sudbury
- Work in outdoor environments and in/around large service vehicles
- Exposure to noise, dirt, and waste materials
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
- May involve lifting heavy parts and working in tight spaces
