++WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING++

Collaborates/works with partners and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and direction.

Coordinates and collaborates with public health staff on strategic activities to recommend initiatives to streamline actions to meet priorities related to health promotion activities.

Provides leadership and support to high priority initiatives and coordinates strategic health promotion projects that focus on Branch objectives, with a particular focus on communicating to health care professionals.

Leads the research and analysis on emerging and pertinent health promotion and prevention issues, challenges and trends, prepares recommendations and presents findings, and provides health promotion support to the MOH and the General Manager and CNO, to make informed decisions.

Identifies gaps in communication and health promotion plans and activities; reviews and recommends options.

Develops and implements communication and marketing plans and related initiatives; oversees the creation of branding materials to improve public awareness and recognition of services; works in conjunction with Departmental and Corporate Communications, as required.

Investigates and recommends media communication options and assists management in developing and scoping communication initiatives; promoting collaboration on communication options to present a coordinated communication approach to the public.

Oversees projects related to communication plans, community linkages and outreach to improve awareness and raise the profile of services to residents.

Liaises with internal partners, community partners and other professionals on dissemination of information of health promotion initiatives, materials, and marketing of services in alignment with Corporate and brand standards.

Supports staff with conducting environmental scans to identify community assets; analyses data and information to determine gaps and identify course of action to support policy direction, health promotion program and communication initiatives.

Supervises staff, including recruitment, selection, hiring, scheduling, assigning and monitoring work, determining training and development needs, coaching and mentoring, conducting performance appraisals and determining/recommending disciplinary action up to and including dismissal in accordance with collective agreements, Regional policies and practices.

Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
++WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR++

Successful completion of a University Degree in Health Promotion, Social/Health Sciences, or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum three (3) years' experience in a public health or health promotion environment with responsibilities for communication planning, health promotion program planning and evaluation, and minimum one (1) year of direct supervisory experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of population health promotion approach, including social determinants of health, health promotion theories, and health equity.

Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and applicable legislation and industry standards, and current practices.

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts and Regulations.
