The Mint is hiring a Director, Total Compensation, People Analytics \& Technology Services who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources (HR) you will be responsible for overseeing the organization's comprehensive compensation system, benefits administration and the integrated HR information system (HRIS). This role manages a $117 M payroll for approximately 1,100 employees and a $26 M benefits plan including a defined benefit pension plan and distinct short-term incentive plans.
You will lead a team of 7 HR professionals who deliver high-quality services in compensation, job evaluation, payroll, benefits, data analysis and insights to enable high level decision making. Your Responsibilities:Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of compensation, payroll and data analysis professionals to ensure an amazing employee experience for your team.
Develop a world class total compensation strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices to attract and retain top talent. Lead the strategic direction for the effectiveness and financial viability of all compensation practices, including salary structures, benefits plans, and short-term incentives to ensure optimal balance of coverage and cost. Lead the job evaluation and salary administration processes for all position levels.
Oversee the Mint's integrated HRIS payroll system ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The Mint's HRIS provider is independent and different from that of the Federal Government payroll system. Lead the people analytics function to optimize strategic workforce planning and reporting (BI) enabling high level decision making.
Foster positive relationships with service providers for solutions linked to HRIS, benefits, pension and actuarial services. This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa location a minimum of three (3) days a week which could change based on operational requirements. Qualifications:Languages Requirements:An advanced level of bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English / French).
Education \& Designation:University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is required. A relevant Human Resources designation (ex. CHRP/CHRL) or equivalent is a strong asset. Experience:Minimum of ten (10) years experience in leading, designing and implementing payroll and compensation programs in complex organizations.
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant and progressive management experience leading a team of HR professionals specializing in compensation, benefits, payroll, HR analytics and classification. Experience providing strategic oversight and recommendations on the effectiveness and financial viability of all compensation practices including salary structures, benefits plans, and short-term incentives. Additional Qualifications:In depth knowledge of compensation, benefits, payroll, HR analytics and classification programs, policies and legislation.
Advanced financial and analytical skills for compensation modeling and forecasting. Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver strategic content in presentations to leadership. The capacity to translate data and research into actionable strategies and recommendations.Proficiency in change management methodology on initiatives focused on fostering innovation.
