Position Overview:
Technology Services is focused on the organizations technology which includes: Application Operations, Release and Change, Infrastructure Management, Enterprise Management and Solution Delivery, The core focus of the team is to provide end to end coordination of CIBC Mellon technology, Solution delivery and consulting to all CIBC Mellon staff technology support requirements.
The Senior Solution Designer is responsible to: coordinate, develop and or establish IT delivery of approved solutions which may include: development of more complex EUC's, custom reporting, new business Solutions and Reporting.
Through participation in technical project teams, is responsible for establishing technical solutions that align with CIBC Mellon's technology strategy and business goals.
Responsibilities:
• Documents system design solutions of medium to high complexity (may bridge multiple vendors and technologies), ensuring compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, as well as compatibility and interoperability with target architectures and standards
• Collaborates with Business Analysts, Architects and end users to ensure that the optimum system designs satisfy all business requirements, while still adhering to technology standards
• Provide guidance; act as SME, and share technical knowledge with team to facilitate team problem solving.
• Ensure product knowledge and technology expertise are maintained and provide consultation and technical advice to internal and external departments about ongoing business and technology initiatives.
• Develop Complex Reporting utilizing various toolsets to meet client and operational needs
• Review effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, and provides recommendations for improving or further leveraging these systems
• Provides consultation, advice and guidance to the business and technical project implementation teams, and solutions build and deploy teams on more complex technology and solutions
Qualifications:
• Computer Science Degree/Diploma
• 7+ years of progressive information technology experience, including leading technical project teams
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering tactical solutions that leverage enterprise computing platforms such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Business Objects, Salesforce, or Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SSRS Report development
• Demonstrated aptitude for continuous learning and innovative thinking
• Proven understanding of SDLC
• Excellent analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills, and ability to make sound, logical decisions
• Strong communication skills with an exceptional client service orientation
